Analyzing News Video

1.What is the story? (What is the point of the news report?)
The story is about how Aspirin can lower your risk of death from numerous types of Cancer.
2.What is the establishing shot in the video?
The establishing shot is the news reporter reporting the story in front of a picture of Aspirin.
What is the introduction?
The news reporter introduces the topic of how Aspirin can cut the rick of dying from types of Cancers, and tell the viewers that there is new research supporting it.
Most likely "sources" are used in the report and they are making comments or being quoted. Name two of them.
Two sources are:
1. The Lancet
2. Dr. Peter Rothwell (Oxford University)
Based on what these two sources say, what questions do you think they were asked? Create two questions for each source that you feel they were probably asked.
Questions I think that were asked to the Doctor, are, "How does Aspirin affect people with Cancer?" and "What are the risks for taking Aspirin daily?"
Identify two different types of "B-roll" in the video.
Two types of "B-roll" are, an elderly man taking an Aspirin, and a shot of Aspirin bottles.
What are two other types of B-roll footage that you think they could have used (consider what is being said in the voice overs)?
Two other types of B-roll footage that I think they could have used are, showing a picture of a graph while the reporter is saying the death percentage rates after taking Aspirin. Also, they could have used a shot of a doctor speaking to a patient about taking Aspirin, when the reporter tells us what the doctors opinion of taking Aspirin is.
Identify two different voice overs and briefly list what facts are in each voice over.
Two different voice overs are, while a shot of The Lancet is shown. The reporter says that there is a 20 % drop in death rates for common Cancers. Also, while there is a shot of a woman taking an Aspirin. The reporter says that there is a 30% drop in death rates for Lung Cancer.
What is the closing to the video?
The closing to the video is the reporter saying:"speak to your doctor first."
Who is the reporter and what is her/his tag at the end?
The reporter is Heather Hiscox. Her tag at the end is, she repetes "talk to your doctor first," because it is a feature on the website.
