Technology
One prediction that I feel will come true this year is, "Bye Bye Yahoo. Here Comes Facebook," because over the past 7 years: since Facebook first debued in 2003, more and more people have been signing up. Starting at a small number of 1,000,000 compared to the 500,000,000 people who are now signed up just shows how popular it has become and will become. Also Facebook is always updating their site, and adding new applications to keep their members occupied and interested.
Another prediction that I feel will come true this year is, "TVs Become Computers. The end of the TV as we knew it begins in 2011," because we are already able to watch our favorite TV shows and movies on our laptops, plus they are more accessable and light to carry with you anywhere you go. Plus, if you wanted to watch tv but it was occupied by one of your family members, most shows have their own website or can be found on a website, so you can watch them whenever, wherever.
Two predictions I feel that will not come true are, "What’s Not In Your Wallet? The electronic wallet on the smart phone will come of age," and "The Evolution of Home Computing. The home PC will become a home wireless LAN," because people like the idea of being able to touch what they are working with, and have a 3D object in front of them. Also, if everyone's pictures were on their TV, how could they print them off for their family albums? People also like the idea of simplicity, which is not offered in these two ideas.
Media
One prediction that I feel will come true is, "Leaks and Journalism: A New Kind of Media Entity," becuase once people are allowed a voice, they make sure that their voice is heard for years to come. It only takes one person to start a trend or movement, and everyone else joins in. Now that Julian Assange has leaked information for the good of America, more people will follow in his footsteps to help get the correct and helpful news out into the world.
Another prediction that I feel will come true is, "Social vs. Search," because when Facebook first came about, it was to share information with different students. Now, it has grown into a mutil-billion dollar company that allows companies, and or individuals to share sites and information about companies with all of their Facebook friends or even everyone available on Facebook.
Two predictions that I feel will not come true are, "Social Storytelling Becomes Reality," and "The Rise of Interactive TV."
